    The 23rd Laugavegur Ultra Marathon will take place on Saturday, July 13th, 2019. Registration for the race will be open from January 11th to June 30th but can be closed sooner if the race is fully booked. Information about entry fee, terms etc will be available at the beginning of January. Is this race for you?

  • The Laugavegur trail

    The Laugavegur trail is located in the southern highlands of Iceland and connects the nature reserves Landmannalaugar and Thorsmork. For many runners the Laugavegur Ultra Marathon is the most enjoyable race in Iceland. The course is 55 km and takes runners through areas of outstanding natural beauty.

Sebastien Camus and Joe Meek are the 2016 winners

Sébastien Camus and Jo Meek are the 2016 Laugavegur Ultra Marathon winners. Jo Meek from UK finished on a new female course record, 5:00:46. Sébastien Camus from France finished at 4:24:26, 6th best male finish time since 1997.

Updated weather forecast

The conditions at the Laugavegur trail are good and also the weather forecast for tomorrow. It indicates relatively calm weather. Light easterly winds at the start with partly cloudy skies. Winds turn to light variable and then westerly as the day goes on. Rain showers expected in most parts of the trail after noon. Click on the map below to see a bigger pdf version.
