In Reykjavik Marathon you can choose from six distances:

  • 3 km fun run for the whole family - map
  • 10 km timed race - map
  • 21,1 km timed race - map
  • 42,2 km timed race - map
  • Relay race (42,2 km) for 2-4 runners - map
  • Lazy Town Run for 8 years and younger - map  

The Marathon and the Half Marathon are one lap (except for the last part of the marathon, as it goes nearly the same route as in the beginning of the race). The 10 KM is only the first part of the course (See map). Every KM will be clearly marked.

Refreshments, First Aid and toilets
Special drinks (Powerade) and water will be available at 5 km intervals throughout the race. Runners in the full marathon can leave a refreshment at the EXPO on Friday August 22th. It will be brought to the 15km and/or 30km drinking stations. Be sure to mark your refreshments very well. Full medical back-up will be provided. Besides the start and finish, toilets will be located at 5km, 12km, 18km, 25km, 30km and 35km. (See map and service).
