  • Geothermal pool

    Close by the start and finish of the race is one of the city’s wonderful geothermal outdoor swimming pools, Laugardalslaug. All participants are invited to the swimming pool, hot tubs and steam baths after the race. It's a perfect way to relax after a successful race in the midnight sun.   • Three distances

    In the Suzuki Midnight Sun Run you can choose between three distances; half marathon, 10 km race and 5 km race. The rout has some great viewings like the salmon river Ellidaa, lake Raudavatn, and a beautiful golf course. The race starts in Laugardalur valley which is in full bloom this time of year.

Registration starts on January 11th

The 25th Suzuki Midnight Sun Run will take place on Friday June 23rd 2017. Participants can choose between three distances:

Half marathon (21,1 km)
10 km race
5 km race

On-line registration will start on January 11th and will be open until June 22nd. Information about registration fee and other practical things will be available here at marathon.is in the beginning of January.

Happy runners

The 2016 Suzuki Midnight Sun Run took place on Thursday June 23rd. We are very pleased to see that, acording to the survey we sent after the race, we have very happy runners. 97% of the runners will recommend the race to their friends and family.

The 2017 Suzuki Midnight Sun Run will take place on Friday June 23rd 2017. Registration for the race starts in January 2017.

The Reykjavik Sports Union was established in 1944 and is the association of sports clubs in Reykjavik. The Reykjavik Sports Union organizes six sports events every year: Íslandsbanki Reykjavík Marathon in August, Laugavegur Ultra Marathon in July, Suzuki Midnight Sun Run and Tour of Reykjavik in June, Northern Lights Run, powered by Orkusalan in February and Reykjavik International Games in January.
