All participants in the 2015 Suzuki Midnight Sun Run can get a free week pass to the gym. Both World Class and Hreyfing gym and spa, located close to the start and finish of the race, are offering this.

You have to keep your bib number to claim the offer. At World Class your bib number will be stamped, but at Hreyfing gym and spa you hand in your bib number to get the free week pass.

Registration is open

Registration for the 2015 Suzuki Midnight Sun Run is now open. The race will take place on Tuesday June 23rd. Click here or on the "on-line registration" button on the right to register.

It is recommended that runners register in good time since the entry fee gets higher closer to the race. Click here for information about the entry fee.

In 2014 about 2.600 people participated in the Suzuki Midnight Sun Run including around 500 people from abroad.

Registration starts in January

The 23rd Suzuki Midnight Sun Run will take place on Tuesday June 23rd 2015. Participants can choose between three distances:

Half marathon (21,1 km)
10 km race
5 km race

Registration will start on January 9th and will be open until June 22nd. Information about registration fee and other practical things will be available here at marathon.is in the beginning of January.

Instagram winners

Three Instagram photos with the hashtag #midnightruniceland have been drawn out. They are the winners in the 2014 Suzuki Midnight Sun Run Instagram game. The three lucky photographers have received a 10.000 ISK gift certificate that can be used to pay entry fee for the Reykjavik Marathon races and is valid for four years.

Age group prizes

Prizes to the first three runners in each distance were handed out by the finish line last night. Winners in each age group can get their prizes at the Reykjavik Marathon office at Engjavegur 6, 104 Reykjavik. The office is open between 9 and 16 on weekdays. Results and photos

The 2014 Suzuki Midnight Sun Run was held on June 23rd and have there never been more participants registered. The total number of registered participants was 2632, around 500 from abroad from 47 countries. Most of them came from United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Sweden. Compared to last year 1.995 people registered for the race, around 350 from abroad.

Andrew Mcleod from Germany and Anne Julie Aimee Cattenoz from France won the half marathon race. In the 10 k Ingvar Hjartarson and Agnes Kristjansdottir, both from Iceland, where the winners. Guðni Páll Pálsson and Hrönn Guðmundsdóttir won the 5 k race. The first three runners in each distance got their prizes at the finish area last night. Registration in Laugardalshöll

The 2014 Suzuki Midnight Sun Run takes place tonight, Monday June 23rd. On-line registration for the race is now closed but registration will be possible in Laugardalsholl (big white sports hall), Engjavegur 8, 104 Reykjavik from 16:00 until no later than 30 minutes before the start of each race. Registered runners have to pick up their registration package (number, chip, etc.) at same place. See here on a map.

The program tonight is following:

21:20 Half marathon starts on Engjavegur by The Reykjavik Zoo and Family Park
21:50 5 km race starts on Engjavegur in front of Laugardalshöll Sports Hall
22:00 10 km race starts on Engjavegur in front of Laugardalshöll Sports Hall

Prizes will be handed out at the finishing area by the old laundry springs. The prizes are given by Camelbak, Under Armour, Powerade and Reykjavik Marathon. See map of finish and start area here.

Free admittance to one of the geothermal baths and pools in Reykjavik, Laugardalslaug swimming pool, is included in the entry fee. Runners will find a ticket for the swimming pool in their registration package. The ticket is only valid on June 23rd. Participants can enter the pool after the race and stay there the whole night if the want because the pool will be open 24 hours.
